This is only good for today, Nov 5 2009; tomorrow they will have a new story up on the home page so if you want to read it you have to go in the archives and look for the title.
This is the site where the featured story must be under 200 words.
Just to give you some idea of how hard it is to keep a complete story under 200 words--my novel that I’m currently working on is right at about 134,000 words, and STILL not done! (Once I get done with this first draft I’ll have to kill a lot of those words, too...)
Nov 04, 2009 6:26 pm - Actually, it’s so easy I can explain it. Take out the joy stick (the bowl) and the cable (mouth piece) then seal the edges with rubber cement, or whatever works for you. Cut down a screen and put it in the bowl and use it once. The screen should then be permanently (at least for bit) molded into the bowl. Doneski
Nov 03, 2009 8:24 am - It’s my birthday, bitches (and another story up too) Guess how old I’m gonna be?
Once I get my memory card for my new camera (ordered and paid for back in September, still not received) I’m gonna have some pictures for those of you who care. ;) If you liked the last ones that graboid90 posted then you will like these better. I’ve lost a bunch of weight since I stopped drinking. (That’s right--I give presents to others on my birthday, so sue me.) I’ll be posting them on webshots, probably, and you’ll have to get the password from me to see em. (DON’T PM me for the password yet, since I still don’t have a functioning camera, ok...? I’ll let ya know.)
Also I’m going to have another story up tomorrow on the "justalittlefiction. om" site; it’s called "It Always Snows on Halloween". (This is the site where the story of the day has to be under 200 words.) This is the fourth story I’ve had published on their home page since I joined the site in September--actually somebody invited me to the site but I never found out who it was; I can understand why they wouldn’t want for anybody to blame them for it, though!
So yeah, wish me a happy birthday, or fuck off!
Yesterday my best friend who I’ve known for more than 30 years expressed surprise that I’ve lived this long. Quite frankly, I didn’t think I would make it, either! (And I still have all my teeth! AND my original knees!)
Nov 03, 2009 2:24 pm - lol I feel so young posting below the three of you. Happy birthday to you Scarlett and have a good day. Also, congrats on the stories.
Nov 04, 2009 9:13 am - Today (Nov 4) is my 52nd birthday. Last year at this time I didn’t have a very good birthday because:
A) Helmut, though he did call me, wouldn’t say "happy birthday" because his mom was in the same room, and
B) What’s-his-name was elected president.
I’m having a lot better b-day today though. ;) Helmut is out of my life, picking his pimples in college, and having to buy all new clothes because of weight gain, and my fellow American citizens are starting to wake up and smell the bacon frying.
I’ll note that my story didn’t get put on the home page of JALF today because--I imagine--the webmaster’s wife was having a kid. If you belong to "justalittlefiction. om" go to the forum and under the topic "personal news" posted by Chris, wish him good luck with his new kid. (Since the kid is a Scorpio like me, he’s gonna need it.) xoxo
Nov 04, 2009 3:03 pm - Everyone with a brain has respect for President Obama. You don’t have respect for Obama. Therefore, you don’t have a brain. Happy Birthday, enjoy your quest for a brain.
Oct 31, 2009 2:05 pm - HAPPY HALLOWEEN Happy Halloween, and 5*s to all who post. Please don’t over do me with 5*s because my DPL is low. If you see someone has already 5’d me just get me later if you dont mind.
Oct 26, 2009 5:20 am - Another teeny tiny story On the "just a little fiction" site to get a story on the first page it has to be 200 words or less. Writing a complete story in 200 words or less is next to impossible, yo!
This is the third one of my (really short) stories that has been on the first page of JALF. After today (26 October 2009) it won’t be there anymore but will be in the archives, so if you click on the link tomorrow you will get someone else’s story. My story will still be there but in the archives, which is a link at the bottom of the page.
You can read my story here: Cards & Candles. I thought it turned out pretty well.
Oct 25, 2009 10:41 pm - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7 V8 I bought a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.
235hp, 290ft lbs of torque from the 4.7 V8. (Goodbye gas mileage xD)
The truck has about 87k miles on it. Fully loaded, leather interior, seat heaters, Quadra Drive. As well as an aftermarket stereo and remote starter.
Guy wanted $4900, but it needs all new brakes, 2 new tires (just to pass NY inspection), plus new U joints, and ball joints on the driver side, so I offered $3500, and he accepted.
I’ll have more outside shots tomorrow if I remember. At any rate, 5* all around, and feel free to post your cars (essentially a mini post your car thread, lol).
Sorry, forgot to add get a Haynes or Chilton book. They both have complete info on your new ride.
Thanks, I’ll look into them, I’m assuming they’re good otherwise you wouldn’t be suggesting them.

that things beautiful compared to my fucking ’93 ford ranger. i think i should do an egg on it one day...
Thanks, lets see some pictures!
But its not all smooth sailing, as I was tinkering with it today, (haven’t bought any of the big ticket items, so I’m just f-ing around with little stuff) found out, I have some electrical problem causing the left taillight to function in either headlights mode, OR braking lights mode, but if I have the lights on and hit the brakes at the same time, the light shuts off and the others work fine... Wtf... Hopefully its something simple and not some massive electrical problem. Also found out that my rear windshield wiper motor is shot, needs to be replaced. In addition, it seems as if my e-brake does not function mechanically, as well as will not turn the light on, on the dashboard. Gah, this is getting more and more fun.
Oct 26, 2009 8:17 pm - Nice looking truck you got thar.
Brake/tail light issue:
You have bad connections in the tail light assemblies. It’s a common problem with Jeeps.
Take out your tail light assembly. There should be three bulb holders. Twist them about a quarter turn to remove them. Then clean the contacts on the board and the holders with emery cloth or ~400 grit sandpaper. Also bend the tabs a bit to give a better connection.
Oct 26, 2009 8:47 pm - thanks fo’ the five yo, to you too.
neither of my blinkers work. they don’t blink at least. probably a fuse problem. you should try that too before you screw anything with your lights up lol. but i guess my truck kicks more ass than anybodys cuz its been totaled 4 times so far...im not shitting you...

I was waiting for you to comment, lol.
I’ll try that tomorrow and let you know. I really hope it is something that simple, though, I was just in there. I mean, I just replaced the bulb, then saw the light problem. Either way Dodge, thank you, and if you don’t mind, I’m sure I’ll be coming to you with a bunch more questions about it :]
Also, I like the Old’s, nice car, lol. I personally love boats. When I was looking at cars, it actually came down between this and a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII, but then I realized how much I missed having 4WD, and that this would be the first winter without it. As well as the fact I would have nothing to go off roading in anymore properly (Poor Poor 94 Cherokee... Why did your Uni-body have to crack... why why why [wipes tear])
5* to you Dodge, and hell, for the advice, 5* on everything

Please, do share, I’m quite interested now, hah. 4 times of totaling must have you in that thing for more than double what you paid for it...
Oct 27, 2009 5:27 pm - LoL, thanks. Take your time with the 5’s. I r patient.
Any time you need help, ask. I enjoy the challenge.

Look under your steering column. There is a blue box clipped under there. That’s the turn signal/emergency flasher. Go to the dealer and tell them you need a new one. Give them this part number: 5L5Z 13350 AA
Or better yet, hand them the old one.
Or go to your local auto parts store, or the junk yard (look in ’93-ish cougars, mustangs, tbirds, etc.. They used the same one).
It should look something like this (I think):
Sorry Myincrediblycreativename, for momentarily hijacking your blog... :-P

ha yea, pretty much. my dad bought it in ’95 for about 5k. he totaled it once, my bro totaled it twice, and i totaled it once. and the brakes, transmission, shit with the tires, and body work have all been tinkered with several times. This adds up to well over 5 grand. but hey, it’s been a faithful vehicle over the years (16!) and i don’t plan on giving it up until it fucks up again...which will be soon...
Oct 29, 2009 2:40 pm - Dodge, your 5* are all taken care for :]

I’m about to go try that right now, hope it works.
Nov 04, 2009 9:36 pm - I dunno yet, I haven’t been able to get to it, haha. When I said I was going to go out in the garage and check it out, I ended up taking apart the front brakes and found out the driver’s side CV boot was tore open, so I had to take that all out, and of course the bolts were rusted solid, so out came the torch :D haha.
Oct 25, 2009 3:32 pm - Helmut = pussy I am really starting to see something here. Helmut’s dad really DOES control each of his offspring to such an intense degree nobody ever gets out. Helmut used to tell me about these weird fantasies/dreams he had about being trapped in a pod, sort of like in "the Matrix". I can see why now.
The poor kid’s gonna end up being a carbon copy of his "disabled" half sister. (A year ago if he had heard me say something like that he would’ve laughed his ass off, too, and then got pissed off and not spoken to me for days.)
And I found something out too: Insanity DOES run in that family. Both sides, in fact. First you lose a lot of your brain power, then you start to get twisted and the family has to keep you somewhere WAY out in the woods to keep you from getting into trouble. They always end up blaming the old man for it, and he IS a 100% creep, but ultimately he’s just a cog in a larger machine.
I’m so glad I kicked that guy out when I did. (And you should see some of the stuff I found that he THOUGHT he had hidden on my comp!)
I’m not sorry I helped him out, though. He begged for my help and he really needed it at the time, like so many people do. I did what I thought was right and my conscience is totally clear on that score. :D
Like I told him after we first got here and the deputies were trying so hard to make me give him up: They keep trying to get me, but so far they haven’t. I don’t think they will, either, personally. But life is long, so: We’ll see!
