Well I have had alot of troubles with my computer lately and I dont know what to do...
I am writing this on my family computer because I cant even go on the internet on mine.
And mine isnt a crappy computer either,I have a HP pavilion a1430n.
Well now straight to the problem...
I got my computer a few months ago,
and the Norton AntiVirus has long expired.
I bought spy sweeper some time ago and it removed all the spyware.
I bought Norton AntiVirus 2006 today and when I freakin try to open it it either freezes
or wont let me do it and I get bombed with "error" pop ups.
Im seriously pissed right now cause I cant do shit on my computer nowand I need it fixed by next week...
And ideas?

It’s NOT the fault of the PC nor is it the fault of Norton. You should ALWAYS protect your PC with an updated version of an Anti- Virus app, and you MUST protect it FROM DAY ONE!!!!
The problems that ensue from an unprotected PC makes it almost impossible for Norton to install properly as viruses and other malware wreak havok on allot of the things Norton would have been protecting in the first place.
It will be VERY hard for you to completely fix your OS at this point. It may actually be easier to re-install Windows and make sure to protect it BEFORE you do anything else.

if you do what viper said, and do a repair install(xp pro only)/reinstall, make sure you back up anything important to disc/external hd.

Valo, you are correct, it ISN’T because you have an HP, the problem is that you (and 98% of all PC users) use WINDOWS!
Windows is so popular that people who make these Viruses and all the other types of "BADware" are quite familiar with how Windows is constructed, and that knowledge is why they can make programs that really destroy how Windows is supposed to work.
That’s why it is IMPERATIVE that you you have a WORKING and UPDATED version of an Anti-Virus and Firewall (filthysanchez-09 could show you some great info on this) and it would help to have and use the popular and affective Ad-AwareSE Personal, and Spybot Search And Destroy to help you keep your PC clean and free from "Sillyware".
I have found some pretty effective and legitimately FREE tools (except for the Anti-Virus, which filthysanchez-09 can help you with) that protect and clean your PC to keep it in good running order.
I’m contemplating making an Egg on it as they have been running on my Windows based PCfor a LONG time and I’ve had VERY little problems while surfing some VERY questionable websites on the net. :-O
